You can't keep them ALL! but WHY not???? With some projects around here not completed, space is going to be tight. To solve both, we are putting the GORGEOUS red convertible up for sale. I so wanted to keep it, as I see myself as a red convertible gal....but I had to choose. The Tropic Turquoise wins out. 1. power top 2. white interior 3. TT needs a clutch and some other repairs, so we cannot sell it at this time!
Anyway, I'm ok with it. This car will make someone a FABULOUS driver. It'd knock the socks off most judges in a show setting and probably not too far from being a high concours car IF that is what you wanted to do.
The first round on Ebay will help put the car "out there" to the public. It could reach the reserve if people recognize where the car comes from and that we always share everything we know about a car. We'll avoid sales that involve language barriers after having a less than satisfactory outcome once.
The car is getting exposure at the local car shows and right here on Route 66 in our front yard. Had several inquiries...I think people figure it'll be here in the spring, so why act? we'll see.
anyway, thanks for checking our website, slide shows and supporting the Corvair hobby. If you're interested in this car, give us a shout, come see it, come drive it. It IS a gem!

1966 Corvair Corsa convertible. $17000.00 Starts, runs and drives great. 140hp 4 carburetor flat 6, air cooled, rear mount engine. Corsa was built in 1965 and 1966 as the sport model. This is a genuine Corsa, engine code 0511 RM indicating this is likely a rebuilt engine, high performance block stamping. The internals of an RB and RM engines are the same, just thermister and vacuum balance tube differences. This car does have a thermister, all the gauges in working order, including the upgraded quartz clock. Recent work to the car includes clutch, flywheel, harmonic balancer, new motor mount and front spoiler. The carburetors were all rebuilt and function as they should. We are driving the car regularly without issues like stalling or smoking/using oil. Transmission shifts quietly and smoothly. Electronic ignition, new coil, distributor cap, color match ignition wires.
Suspension: all new Strider shocks from Clark's Corvairs. Rebuilt front end and suspension with new rubber/nylon/Delrin bushings. Steering is tight and responsive. Has telescoping column and nice plastic wheel. 15" Tires and wheels, new for the 2013 driving season from Custom Wheels Market ARE Black Aluminum wheels and white letter Goodrich tires in 205/60 on the front and 225/60 on the rear is a good looking tire and wheel combination for the car. Heavy duty springs are newer, so the car has little lean in an aggressive curve.
Exhaust was new in 2013...receipts available. Extractors from Clarks were $350
The interior was completely replaced. New foam in the seats, new Clark's Corvairs reproduction vinyl, door panels, arm rests, carpeting. New day/night mirror. All door seals were replaced, pillar rubber, door sills and seat belts. Has brand new Clark's console. On the body, all wheel well trim was replaced, including rocker spears.
The car was painted prior to purchase by the previous owner, more than 5 years ago. Not showing any rust bubbles, it's a good quality paint job, showing very little in the way of chips or scratches. The data plate shows originally it would have had a white top. The current, black top is presentable, with one small area on the passenger side by the back window that is a little pulled away from the frame. Could probably be repaired. New boot. Previous owner put the top down in the spring and left it down all season. Back window is also good but not as pretty as new. New insulation in the engine compartment, the car has been well maintained. We offer the car with confidence. We've know the car since the previous owner bought it. We've helped him through the improvements he wanted to make. This will make someone a great driver as well as a car you could be proud to show. As with all vintage autos, we disclose everything we know, but cannot offer guarantees or warranty. If you don't have a sense of adventure, a sense of humor, some mechanical ability and at least a small budget, take up knitting because old cars will drive you bat shit crazy *disclaimer from John & Teresa Happy Trails to you!
